America's Got Talent Auditions InformationSeason 5 of World's Biggest Talent Search Casting October 2009
Casting for Season 5 of America's Got Talent begins October 2009. Here is all of the audition information and some pointers for success in the first round.
Now that Kevin Skinner has officially won Season 4 of America's Got Talent, casting can begin for the next season, which will air in 2010. Interested acts can now pre-register for regional auditions or submit video auditions to the producers. Pre-Registration for America's Got TalentThe Pre-registration form is required for all parties interested in auditioning for the show. It includes a choice of audition cities and regions, and/or allows acts to upload a video of their work. Entrees who are under 18 years old require additional paperwork from their legal guardians. Some audition cities and dates have already been announced on NBC's website. They are:
More cities will be announced later, as auditions will run through Spring of 2010. The America's Got Talent Audition - PaperworkTo arrive as prepared as possible at the audition, acts need to bring with them all necessary paperwork. The most important form is the Audition Form, or Contestant Information Sheet. This form asks for personal information, as well as educational and entertainment experience. A large part of the form is dedicated to the act's personal history, which as shown by Kevin Skinner can be a very important factor in proceeding to the next round of the show and garnering a fan base. Minors must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or a third party designated by the parent or guardian. If parents can not attend and must send the minor with a third party, the act must bring the Guardianship and Medical Authorization for Minors Form, completed and notarized. Notaries can often be found through banks or mailing stores, or in a local directory. The minor also needs to bring a completed Personal Release Form, in which the parent designates the third party to accompany their minor to the audition. Animal acts need to bring a copy of inoculation records from their veterinarian asserting that the animal or animals performing are up-to-date on their current vaccinations. They also need to submit a special form describing their act in case any special rules apply for the particular location in which they will be auditioning. Dangerous or physical stunt acts must also complete an additional form. Both special forms are available through the show's website. All friends and family who wish to attend the audition are welcomed, but they will need to bring a completed Release Form. No friends or family will be allowed in the actual audition room, except in the case of minors. Each person attending the audition, whether or not they are part of an act, will need to bring with them a valid photo ID. Minors can bring a school ID or a substitute, but if they have any question about whether their ID will be acceptable, it would be wise to bring their birth certificate as well. Minors who are too young to have any photo identification must bring their birth certificate, and the parent or guardian must be able to present a photo ID that matches in name to the child's parent or guardian on the certificate. Audition Eligibility for America's Got TalentAll acts auditioning for America's Got Talent need to be United States citizens, legal permanent residents of the United States, or possess a current visa allowing them to seek employment freely within the United States. Otherwise, as long as all of the necessary paperwork is completed and brought to the audition, the audition itself should be very simple. All an act needs after filling out the correct forms is a talent, a meaningful personal story, and the desire to see their name in lights. If all of those elements come together perfectly, the audition could be only the first part of a long and exciting venture.
